Classic Spaghetti Bolognese

The italian classic! This delicious recipe comes directly from Italy on to your plate. It takes some time to make this super easy & mouthwatering pasta Sauce, but it is totally worth it!

Ingredients - serves 4
400g spaghetti pasta
500g minced meat, half & half
1 can tomatoes
500g tomato puree
250ml red wine
250ml vegetable stock
1 onion
1 tbsp. tomato paste
2 garlic cloves
some fresh basil
some grated parmesan cheese
salt & pepper
olive oil
Method
Peel onion & garlic and chop finely. Heat some olive oil in a pan, add in onions & cook until translucent. Add in meat & sear for 2 minutes. Chop canned tomatoes finely. Add tomatoes, tomato paste & garlic to the pan and pour in red wine and veggie stock. Bring to a boil, season well with salt and pepper and let simmer at medium heat for about 1 hour.
In the meantime, cook pasta in plenty of salted water until al dente. Stir sauce every once in a while and add in some water, if necessary. Wash basil, remove leaves from the stem and chop roughly. Drain pasta & serve with some fresh basil & parmesan cheese!
