Here is a easy, flavorful “Duck with Mango” recipe — a fusion-style dish that balances crispy duck with sweet, tangy mango sauce.

Ingredients - serves 2
2 duck breasts (skin on)
Salt and black pepper
1 tsp five-spice powder (optional but great)
1 tsp honey (for glazing)
1 ripe mango, peeled & diced
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
2 cm piece fresh ginger, grated
100 ml orange juice or chicken stock
1–2 tbsp soy sauce
1–2 tsp lime juice
1 tsp brown sugar or honey
1 tbsp oil
Optional: fresh chili or chili flakes for heat
Method
Score the duck skin in a crisscross pattern (don’t cut into the meat). Season both sides with salt, pepper, and optional five-spice powder. Place the duck breasts skin-side down in a cold pan (important for rendering fat).
Heat the pan to medium and cook 8–12 minutes until the skin is golden and crisp.
Flip and cook another 4–6 minutes.
Brush lightly with honey and let it caramelize for 20–30 seconds.
Remove from the pan and let rest 5–10 minutes.
In the duck fat (or 1 tbsp oil), sauté onion, garlic, and ginger until soft.
Add the diced mango and cook for 1–2 minutes. Pour in orange juice/chicken stock.
Add soy sauce, lime juice, and sugar/honey. Simmer 5–8 minutes.
Blend until smooth (or leave chunky—your choice). Adjust seasoning: more soy for salt, lime for brightness, sugar for sweetness.
Slice the duck breast. Spoon mango sauce on the plate and place duck slices on top.
Serve with rice or vegetables.
