Ingredients - serves 4

600g minced beef

4 slices of cheddar cheese

2 tomatoes

2 pickles

4 burger buns

4 tbsp. BBQ Pepper Sauce

1/2 tsp. powdered onion

1/2 tsp. powdered garlic

salt and pepper

some olive oil

a sheet of parchment paper

Method

Take the beef out of the fridge about 30 minutes before starting. Cut the burger buns open and roast in a pan. Mix minced beef with powdered onion and garlic in a bowl. Season well with salt and pepper.

Cut the parchment paper into 4 pieces. Divide the meat into 4 portions and place each on a piece of parchment paper. Flatten with your hands and shape into circles (Ø ca. 12cm).

Heat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Heat up some oil in a pan - don't use olive oil. You need high temperatures and olive oil isn't suitable for that. Place a patty in the pan with the parchment paper facing up, then remove the parchment paper carefully. Fry patty on both sides for 2-3 minutes, remove from the pan and place on the baking tray. Repeat with the remaining patties. Now place the cheddar slices on top of the patties and place in the oven for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese starts to melt.

In the meantime, spread 1 tbsp. of BBQ Sauce on each patty. Wash tomatoes and cut pickles & tomatoes into slices. Place the patties onto the bottom halves of the buns, add tomatoes & pickles and place the upper halves of the buns on top.
