Jam-filled Cherry Rolls

Have you tried jam-filled rolls yet? These soft and fluffy rolls are filled with fruity cherry jam and they are incredibly delicious! And the best thing, they are so easy to make!

Ingredients - 8-10 Cherry Rolls
500g flour
200ml luke warm milk
1 egg
7g dried yeast
80g butter
80g sugar
a pinch of salt
200g cherry jam
1 egg yolk
some milk
some icing sugar for dusting
Method
Mix flour, sugar, dried yeast and salt in a large bowl. Melt butter, mix with egg and add to the bowl. Work into a smooth dough with your hands - about 5 minutes. Cover bowl and let rest at room temperature for about 1 hour - the volume should have doubled.
Remove dough from the bowl, punch down dough and roll out rectangular on a flour dusted surface. Stir jam until smooth and spread onto the dough. Starting at the long edge nearest you, tightly roll up the dough into a tight log. Cut into 8-10 pieces using a sharp knive.

Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper and place the rolls on the trays. Let rest for another 40 minutes.
Heat oven to 180°C. Beat up egg yolk with some milk and brush rolls with egg wash.
Bake in preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

Remove the rolls from the oven and allow to cool. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
